Job descriptions There are three responsible officers of the Club - they are the Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer - they are joined on the committee by the 8 teams members, a rep from each team, and the Registrations Secretary, Minutes Secretary, Social Secretary, Junior Club Organiser and the Club Coach.
Chairperson Convenes and chairs AGM's (Annual General Meetings), extraordinary meetings of the club's members, and committee meetings. Sets agendas for meetings. Follows the club constitution. Represents the club in external affairs. Maintains club structure of managers, teams and members. Keeps updated with netball information from Leagues, County, Region and England. Promotes netball according to the club constitution. Manages website. Is jointly responsible for the club's assets and chatels along with the Secretary and Treasurer.. Is accessible to members.
Secretary Is jointly responsible for the club's assets and chatels along with the Chairperson and the Treasurer. Handles all communications with the leagues on behalf of the club. Receives all club correspondence including email. Sends information to members and team managers. Collates information for the web site. Maintains website registration. Holds members records. Produces Club handbook. Submits AENA registration returns via email. Buys and sells club kit, orders club kit, and equipment. Reports to the Club Committee. Reports to the AGM.
Treasurer Is jointly responsible for the club's assets and chatels along with the Chairperson and the Secretary. Is responsible for the club's accounts. Signs club cheques along with the Secretary or Chairperson. Receives monies from match fees via Team Managers, members registration fees via the Secretary. Receives Coaching fees from Club Coach. Pays the club bills including league fees, court hire, coaching fees, equipment, fines. Prepares annual accounts. Arranges accounts audit prior to AGM. Reports to the AGM. Reports to the Club Committee.
Registrations Secretary Receives members list from Secretary. Maintains names on computer software. Provides Club Handbook to every member. Is responsible for playing up control. Produces Club Handbook player list. Maintains team sheets & checks scores on Horizon web site.
Minutes Secretary Takes minutes, or arranges a deputy, at all club meetings. Prepares minutes and distributes to committee and/or members. Reminds members of meetings in advance.
Social Secretary Arranges Club Social events. Club annual meal.
Club Coach Arranges club coaching. Trials new members. Creates an environment for personal and team netball development. Promotes coaching and umpiring courses.
Junior Club Organiser Books facility. Arranges a qualified coach always with an assistant. Collects fees via coach. Is aware of Duty of Care and Child Protection Guidelines.
Team managers (approved by the AGM/Committee) Do or delegate the following: Select team from squad. Appoint a team captain. Book suitably qualified umpires (apart from Chelmsford Div 3 and above). Maintain team kit - bibs, ball, pump, first aid, result cards, accident book. Ensure players wear matching kit. Ensure matches are attended as per the schedule with a full team. Inform Registration Secretary of players playing from other teams below - ask before selecting - tell when selected. Collect match fees and monies owed by members - fill in envelopes provided by Treasurer and hand complete envelope (no owings!) back. Pay umpire. Complete results card and make sure correct names, score, signed by umpires. Report card details to Registration Secretary (by email form provided via this website) Fill in accident book and report accidents to Secretary. Inform Secretary of any "incidents". Keep track of club sponsored kit. Encourage members to attend coaching.
Team reps (one per team per committee meeting) Represent members views at committee meetings. Vote at committee. |
